I have been sewing for a few years. I enjoy fabric (my husband even jokes that if he loses his job, at least we could open a fabric store). I love wovens, knits, and everything in between. Although, knits have been my go to for the past year. I joined many custom knit groups on Facebook and my eyes have been opened to this wonderful world I was missing out on.
With all of the custom groups that are available, there are times I need fabric for projects that do not involve custom prices. I have just a small handful of places that I love to shop, due to the selection and the price (not to mention customer service). One of these places is LA Finch Fabrics.
I have purchased from them about 5-7 times within the past year. I have purchased mystery grab bags, linen, French Terry, rayon challis, and a number of other types of fabric.
Every time I purchase anything from them, the quality is wonderful, the price is fantastic, the customer service is awesome, and the shipping time is on point. I was recently selected to sew a few garments up with a couple of fabrics, and post about them. I received 4 yards of fabric (at no cost to me), in exchange for the use of the fabric, and some pics of my finished clothing items.
First of all, when I opened the package, I wanted to make a blanket out of the modal French Terry and call it a day. It was so soft (seriously, sooooo soft). After I was done wrapping myself in the softest French Terry I have ever felt, I made a Sloane sweater from Love Notions and a dolman from E+M Patterns for my little one.
With my second fabric, I was going to make matching swimsuits with my little, but decided that I would not get full use out of the suit until next year (even though I live in Arizona and it is 100 degrees outside, I am a long-time resident, and it will be “too cold” soon for swimming). So, I opted to make my little a new suit, and a dress for myself.
All of the fabric sewed up so beautifully. The quality of this fabric is a reason that I keep coming back to LA Finch Fabrics.
They have “End of Bolt” sales frequently, where you can snag up some great deals, and they also have so many new fabrics popping up. There is always something that you can use.
Check them out, and let me know what you think.
Thanks for reading. I am going to snuggle with my few yards of Modal French Terry.
