When I think of summer, I think of tank tops, swim suits, and dresses for my little one. I live in Arizona, and it gets hot real quick here. (I think that’s a reoccurring theme from my blog posts).
I love Sofilantjes, and every pattern Anne designs is well thought out and tested. Last year, the Solis was a great summer dress. With its circle skirt, my daughter chooses this type of dress over anything else. This year, the Mantica was released, and features some great color blocking for the bodice. The Mantica also has a waistband, with drawstrings, and a few skirt options.
Each pattern is made for knit fabric, so it will be comfortable. When planning her summer wardrobe, I love dresses that are comfortable, yet versatile. I mashed a couple of the Sofilantjes dresses together, and I am in LOVE with the outcome.
Meet the Mantica-Solis:
It has the Mantica top (option A) with the Solis circle skirt bottom. The only adjustment I made was leaving the Mantica waistband off, and stretching the top and bottom a little bit to fit the waist seam.
Does anyone else have an abundance of Liverpool fabric? Or is it just me? I love the raised texture of the outside, and the smooth inside. It was perfect for this dress, and the drape is so nice on the circle skirt. I used Ribbing for the Peach color blocking portion.
I have three more Mantica’s on my cutting table, along with a Litore, and a Solis. These dresses are all so wonderful for the summer days here, and perfect for transitioning from season to season.
I hope you check out all of the other ladies on the Mini Blog Tour for Sofilantjes.
